WELCOME
Wee Praise is a structured, preschool religious education program for three, four, and five year olds held during the 9:30 and 11:15 Sunday morning Masses. The resources used for this preschool catechesis are the lectionary-based Pflaum Gospel Weeklies titled Seeds and Promise. Wee Praise provides religious learning experiences at the young child’s level of understanding and participation. Through prayer, stories, songs, games, dramatizations, lesson-related crafts and sensory activities, children come to realize God’s love for them. The message of this children’s ministry is a simple one…these young children are members of God’s family…God loves them very much…and they are each very special because they are a child of God.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Help children develop positive attitudes about themselves, their family and friends by discovering and learning more about the many gifts, talents, and abilities that God has provided
Help children increase their knowledge and participation in the Catholic Church’s liturgical seasons of Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter
Increase the child’s knowledge about God and friendship with Jesus
Increase the children’s knowledge and practice of Christian actions towards others such as taking turns, listening, caring, sharing, loving, and thanking others
Increase the children’s appreciation and celebration of God’s love and goodness through Scripture, music, crafts, and prayer
Reinforcement of Catholic values and attitudes being taught and modeled at home
Fellowship and fun with other children his or her own age
