Spring is around the corner!

As we celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8, our 2nd grade students were learning about a contemporary Australian artist named Anna Blatman in Art class. Anna Blatman is known for a unique style that simplifies complex shapes and emphasizes bright colors. The 2nd graders recently used her abstract paintings as inspiration for their own colorful gardens. Under Ms. d’Epagnier’s guidance, they discussed simplifying flower shapes into circles and using a variety of colors to create texture. Beautiful work, 2nd grade! Thank you for reminding us that, in spite of our March snowstorm, spring is just around the corner!
